Braskem S.A. Class A is a depositary receipt listed on the NYSE that represents an interest in Braskem S.A., a Brazilian chemicals and petrochemicals group. Through its subsidiaries, the company produces and trades a broad range of industrial products, including polyethylene, polypropylene, basic petrochemicals, thermoplastic resins, and several fuel and chemical inputs. Its activities also extend to utilities and industrial support services such as steam, water, compressed air, industrial gases, and natural gas. Founded in 1972 and headquartered in São Paulo, the company was previously known as Copene Petroquímica do Nordeste S.A. before adopting its current name in 2002. Braskem is a subsidiary of NSP Investimentos S.A.
