Oaktree Specialty Lending Corp. (NASDAQ: OCSL) is a listed closed-end fund and business development company focused on providing financing to small and mid-sized businesses, primarily in North America. The fund targets a range of debt and hybrid investments, including middle-market lending, bridge financing, first and second lien debt, unsecured and mezzanine loans, senior and junior secured debt, and preferred equity. It also may participate in transactions related to expansions, sponsor-led acquisitions, and management buyouts, sometimes with an equity co-investment component. OCSL typically invests in companies with enterprise values of roughly $20 million to $150 million and EBITDA between $3 million and $50 million, with individual commitments generally ranging from $5 million to $75 million and underwriting capacity of up to $100 million. Its portfolio focus spans sectors such as education services, business services, retail and consumer, healthcare, manufacturing, food and restaurants, construction and engineering, media, advertising, software, IT services, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, real estate, chemicals, machinery, and internet and direct marketing retail.
