Otter Tail Corporation is a U.S.-based utility and industrial company organized as common stock on Nasdaq under the ticker OTTR. The company operates through three segments: Electric, Manufacturing, and Plastics. Its Electric business produces, buys, transmits, distributes, and sells electricity in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, and it participates in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator markets. Power generation for this segment comes from a mix that includes coal, fuel oil, solar, wind, and natural gas, serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
The Manufacturing segment provides metal fabrication services for custom machine parts and metal components, and it also makes thermoformed plastic products used in agriculture, construction, horticulture, industrial, lawn and garden, and recreational vehicle applications. Its Plastics segment manufactures PVC pipe for municipal water, rural water, wastewater, storm drainage, and water reclamation systems, along with related uses in horticulture, medical and life sciences, industrial, recreation, and electronics markets. Otter Tail Corporation was incorporated in 1907 and is headquartered in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
