Sony Group Corporation is a diversified Japanese technology and entertainment company whose securities are represented in the U.S. through an ADR on the NYSE. The group develops and sells electronic equipment, devices, and instruments for consumer, professional, and industrial uses across markets in Japan, the United States, Europe, China, the Asia-Pacific region, and other international locations. Its businesses also span game content and network services, including digital software distribution, console hardware, and related accessories. Beyond gaming, Sony is active in recorded music, music publishing, animation, motion pictures, television production, streaming, and studio operations. The company also produces televisions, cameras, projectors, mobile devices, semiconductors, broadband services, media storage products, and insurance, banking, and other financial services. Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Tokyo, it changed its name from Sony Corporation to Sony Group Corporation in April 2021.
