Spire Inc (SR)
Spire Inc. is a U.S. utility company listed on the NYSE under the symbol SR. Through its subsidiaries, it is involved in purchasing, retail distribution, and sale of natural gas to residential, commercial, industrial, and other customers in the United States. Its operations are organized into three segments: Gas Utility, Gas Marketing, and Midstream. The company also markets natural gas and related services, and provides transportation and storage of natural gas. In addition, Spire has propane-related activities that include a propane pipeline, along with risk management and other supporting functions. Founded in 1857 and based in Saint Louis, Missouri, the company was formerly known as The Laclede Group, Inc. before adopting the Spire Inc. name in April 2016.
