Urban One, Inc. is a U.S.-based urban-oriented multimedia company operating through four segments: Radio Broadcasting, Cable Television, Reach Media, and Digital. Its radio business serves primarily African-American and urban audiences, while its cable operations include TV One, an African-American-targeted network, and CLEO TV, which focuses on lifestyle and entertainment programming. The Reach Media segment provides syndicated radio content such as the Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell Show, the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, and The DL Hughley Show, and also runs BlackAmericaWeb.com and related event activities. The Digital segment is centered on Interactive One and online brands including Cassius, Bossip, HipHopWired, and MadameNoire. The company also owns and operates broadcast stations in urban markets under the Radio One tradename. Founded in 1979 and based in Silver Spring, Maryland, the company was formerly known as Radio One, Inc. before adopting its current name in 2017.
