Valero Energy Corporation is a common stock listing on the NYSE for a U.S.-based energy company focused on petroleum-based and low-carbon liquid transportation fuels and petrochemical products. Its operations are organized into three segments: Refining, Renewable Diesel, and Ethanol. The company produces a range of refined products, including gasoline blendstocks, CARB diesel, jet fuel, heating oil, asphalt, feedstocks, aromatics, sulfur, residual fuel oil, and other intermediate oils, as well as certain crude oil grades. Valero sells refined products through wholesale rack and bulk channels and under brands such as Valero, Beacon, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar, and Texaco. It also operates renewable diesel and ethanol plants, producing renewable diesel, renewable naphtha, and sustainable aviation fuel under the Diamond Green Diesel name, along with ethanol and co-products used by animal feed customers. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, the company was formerly known as Valero Refining and Marketing Company before adopting its current name in 1997.
