Its franchise systems include Plato’s Closet, which focuses on gently used clothing and accessories for teens and young adults; Once Upon A Child, which sells gently used and some new children’s apparel, toys, furniture, equipment, and accessories; Style Encore, which specializes in gently used women’s and men’s apparel, shoes, and accessories; Play It Again Sports, which handles used and new sporting goods and related equipment; and Music Go Round, which buys, sells, and trades used and some new musical instruments and audio-related accessories. Winmark also operates a middle-market equipment leasing business under the Winmark Capital name and provides point-of-sale hardware to franchisees, along with certain merchandise for Play It Again Sports locations. The company was incorporated in 1988, was previously known as Grow Biz International, Inc., and is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
