Arbutus Biopharma Corp is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing therapies for infectious diseases in the United States. Its main pipeline targets chronic hepatitis B and includes Imdusiran, a GalNAc-conjugated, subcutaneously delivered RNAi candidate that is being studied in Phase 1 and Phase 2a trials, and AB-101, an oral PD-L1 inhibitor in Phase 1a/1b testing. The company says these programs are designed to suppress HBV antigens and help restore HBV-specific immune response. Arbutus also has a licensing agreement with Alnylam Pharmaceuticals related to LNP delivery technology. Founded in 2005 and formerly known as Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation, the company adopted its current name in July 2015 and is headquartered in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
