Its operations are organized into two segments: Athabasca (Thermal Oil), which targets bitumen resources in the Athabasca region of northern Alberta, and Duvernay Energy, which is involved in light and medium crude oil, tight oil, conventional natural gas, shale gas, and natural gas liquids production in the Greater Kaybob area near Fox Creek, Alberta. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Calgary, the company previously operated under the name Athabasca Oil Sands Corp. before adopting its current name in 2012.
