It also provides construction lending for housing development and healthcare facility financing, as well as customized lending for skilled nursing properties such as independent living, assisted living, and memory care. In addition, the company acts as a tax credit equity syndicator.
Through its Mortgage Warehousing segment, Merchants Bancorp funds agency-eligible residential loans and commercial loans to non-depository financial institutions. Its Banking segment serves consumers and businesses with retail banking, commercial lending, agricultural lending, residential mortgage banking, correspondent mortgage banking, and Small Business Administration lending. Founded in 1990, the company is headquartered in Carmel, Indiana.
