The Cigna Group is a U.S.-based healthcare company that provides insurance and related products and services through its subsidiaries. Its operations are organized into two segments: Evernorth Health Services and Cigna Healthcare. Evernorth Health Services includes pharmacy benefit and specialty care services such as claim adjudication, pharmacy network administration, benefit design support, utilization review, formulary management, home delivery pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and clinical programs focused on health outcomes. Cigna Healthcare covers U.S. and international health businesses, with offerings that include employer medical plans, individual and family coverage, behavioral health, consumer health engagement, dental, pharmacy management, stop-loss insurance, and global health solutions. The company also has other operations, including corporate-owned life insurance, reinsurance, and selected run-off and non-strategic businesses. It markets its products through brokers and consultants, as well as directly to employers, unions, groups, and individuals via private and public exchanges. Founded in 1792 and headquartered in Bloomfield, Connecticut, the company was formerly known as Cigna Corporation until its name change in February 2023.
