Consolidated Edison Inc (ED)


Consolidated Edison, Inc. is a New York-based utility company founded in 1823 and listed on the NYSE under the ticker ED. Through its subsidiaries, the company is engaged in regulated electric, gas, and steam delivery businesses in the United States. Its electric utility operations serve about 3.7 million customers in New York City and Westchester County, while gas service reaches roughly 1.1 million customers across Manhattan, the Bronx, parts of Queens, and Westchester County. The company also supplies steam to around 1,490 customers in parts of Manhattan. In addition, it provides electricity to about 0.3 million customers in southeastern New York and northern New Jersey and gas to about 0.1 million customers in southeastern New York. Consolidated Edison also operates transmission and distribution infrastructure and invests in electric and gas transmission projects.
