Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation is a financial services company based in Washington, D.C., incorporated in 1987 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Through its agricultural finance platform, it supports a secondary market for loans and related securities connected to U.S. rural and farm lending. Its activities span several areas, including farm and ranch lending, larger agribusiness financing, power and utility loans, broadband infrastructure projects, renewable energy projects, funding activities, and investment holdings. The company also purchases and retains eligible loans and securities, guarantees principal and interest on certain loan-backed securities, services eligible loans, and provides long-term standby purchase commitments for designated loans.
