Markel Group Inc. is a diversified financial holding company whose common stock is listed on the NYSE under the ticker MKL. Its core business is insurance, with operations spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, Bermuda, Germany, the rest of the European Union, Canada, and Asia Pacific. Through its Markel Insurance, Industrial, Financial, and Consumer and Other segments, the company writes a broad range of specialty lines, including general and professional liability, workers’ compensation, marine and energy, personal property coverages, catastrophe-exposed property risks, and credit and surety products. Beyond insurance, Markel Group has interests in a wide set of businesses, including building products distribution, asset and wealth management investments, homebuilding, specialty manufacturing, equipment and industrial services, insurance-linked securities management, equipment leasing, and several other operating businesses. Founded in 1930 and headquartered in Glen Allen, Virginia, the company changed its name from Markel Corporation to Markel Group Inc. in May 2023.
