Chevron Corporation is an integrated energy and chemicals company with common stock listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CVX. Through its subsidiaries, the company operates in the United States and internationally across upstream, downstream, and other activities. Its upstream business includes oil and natural gas exploration, development, production, and transport, along with liquefied natural gas processing and related infrastructure, crude oil pipelines, natural gas marketing, carbon capture and storage, and a gas-to-liquids facility. The downstream segment refines crude oil and markets petroleum products, lubricants, renewable fuels, and commodity petrochemicals, while also handling transport by pipeline, marine vessel, truck, and rail. Additional activities include cash management, debt financing, insurance, real estate, and technology functions. Chevron was founded in 1879, was formerly known as ChevronTexaco Corporation, and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
